WebCollage Syndicator

WebCollage Syndicator is a server based tool that allows you to extend pieces of your existing Web site's functionality, such as applications, purchases, or account access processes, directly to partner sites. These "E-Services" are designated as such to the Syndicator using an XHTML-based markup scheme. While the Syndicator platform itself requires a Windows or UNIX operating system, The Web site and services to be syndicated can be running on any platform. Additionally, partner sites can access the syndicated site through a single line of HTML.

After installing the WebCollage Syndicator software, the provider identifies their available services to the syndication engine using an XHTML-based markup scheme on the existing or developed services within their site. The partner then adds a single line of HTML code to their pages at the point they wish to offer these services to their visitors. When a visitor hits the partner's site, they receive both the contents of the partner's page, as well as the defined E-Service directly from the provider's site. WebCollage lists product configurators, specialty searches, 401(k) account management options for employees, and the assembly of corporate Intranets from multiple independent department sites as possible uses of the platform.

New features in the latest release of WebCollage Syndicator include support for single sign-on (so that users who have authenticated themselves to the partner site do not have to re-authenticate themselves to the provider's service), a "self-service" application to simplify the process of incorporating provided services into the partner's Web site; and the ability to share data between applications running at the partner's and provider's site.
