Suggest LinkMacromedia's Flash Writer allows users of Adobe's Illustrator program to save their work directly into the Flash (SWF) format. According to information published on Macromedia's site, the Flash player is currently available on 83% of Web Surfer's machines. And with the Flash File format now published as an open Web standard, Macromedia hopes that tools like the Flash Writer will encourage more people to adopt the SWF format in their Web publishing efforts. Previously, Illustrator users would need to convert their files to GIF or JPG format before posting to the Web.
The Flash Writer plug-in will be a free download, and is expected to be available in September.
