LiveMotion 2.0

Adobe LiveMotion is a graphics and animation package specifically suited to the creation and production of Web presentations. As should be expected, the product integrates tightly with other Adobe Web focused products, including Photoshop, GoLive, and Illustrator; and supports multiple file output formats, including GIF, JPG, SWF (Flash), QuickTime, and streaming MP3.

LiveMotion includes vector based tools for the creation and manipulation of graphics presentations directly within the package; including drawing and shape tools taken from Photoshop and Illustrator. Its object oriented nature allows for the creation and reuse of individual graphics components within the same or other composites; and specific collections of effects can be saved as a Style to later be applied to other objects. In addition to its content creation tools and services, LiveMotion includes direct support for both Photoshop and Illustrator files, allowing the developer to import layered presentations created within those packages as a series of frames or independent objects; meaning that users needn't lose their layers in the translation.

Key to the latest release of LiveMotion (2.0) is extended support for scripting, both in the creation of Web animations and using the LiveMotion environment itself. Full support for ActionScript provides enhanced capabilities in the creation of interactive animations. The LiveMotion environment itself can be automated and extended via JavaScript, and includes new "Live Tabs" supporting the creation of custom tools. Finally, an included Script Editor and source level debugger assist coders with common IDE-like tools including color coded syntax, code-step-through with break points, and search and replace capabilities.

LiveMotion 2.0 is now shipping with a price of $399. It is available individually, as part of a bundled package with GoLive 6.0 ($449) or as part of Adobe's Web Collection, which includes GoLive, LiveMotion, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
