SilverStream eXtend JEDDI

The SilverStream eXtend JEDDI (Java Enterprise Discovery, Description and Integration) provides developers with a working, private UDDI server allowing them to test their developed Web services in a private implementation before making them public. The product adheres to the UDDI 1.0 specification; and thus allows the developer to move their service to any UDDI 1.0 public directory when ready. Additionally, the server can be utilized as a UDDI solution for private Web service deployments within the enterprise.

The SilverStream eXtend JEDDI server agent operates on J2EE application servers, and SilverStream lists their own SilverStream Application Server 3.7.x and Apache Tomcat 3.x and 4.0 as directly compatible. Additionally, SilverStream notes that the JEDDI server agent can be precompiled and repackaged using the SilverStream eXtend Workbench (also a free download) so that it can be used with other app server heavyweights, including Oracle9iAS, IBM WebSphere, and BEA WebLogic. Multiple databases are supported, including Oracle8i, IBM DB2 v7, and Microsoft SQL Server 2000.

Other key features of SilverStream eXtend JEDDI include a Web-based administrator tool that allows for the specification of how many UDDI components may be registered per user, message/performance tracing, and error log tracking; and the inclusion of sample business data.
