MicroOLAP Database Designer for MySQL / PostgreSQL

Visual Development System for MySQL, PostgreSQL Databases

microOLAP Technologies offers their MicroOLAP Database Designer tool for both MySQL and PostgreSQL databases (two separate products).

- MicroOLAP Database Designer for MySQL is a visual development system intended for database design, modeling, creation, modification and reverse engineering. It is specially developed for MySQL and takes into account its features, including: Various MySQL table types (InnoDB, BDB (Berkeley DB), MyISAM, ISAM); MySQL references (InnoDB tables only); all MySQL field types (including MySQL ENUM and SET fields); and support for ANSI-92/ANSI-99 and MySQL SQL syntax extensions.

MicroOLAP Database Designer for MySQL allows you to construct your database in a visual environment by working with graphical representations of tables, columns, relations and so on. With it, you will get a Physical Entity Relationship Model (ER Model) that can be exported in SQL script, or directly built on a working MySQL database server. After your database model/diagram is modified, you can synchronize existing MySQL databases with it.

This product allows you to extract tables, attributes, relationships, indexes and other objects from existing databases including MySQL, Microsoft Access and Sybase ASE/ASA, Oracle, Informix, MSSQL, DB2, DBF and many others that are accessible through OLEDB or ODBC, and import (reverse engineer) them into your diagram.

You can generate reports with information about a developed model/diagram in an HTML view.

- MicroOLAP Database Designer for PostgreSQL is a CASE tool with a GUI that allows you to build a database structure visually, and see a diagram representing all the tables, references between them, views, stored procedures and other objects. Then you can generate a physical database on a server, and modify it according to any changes you made to the diagram using ALTER statements.

Capabilities include:

- Place objects of your database on a diagram, a virtual sheet of paper. See and realize the structure of your database and its objects: tables, views, stored procedures, functions and relationships between them

- Construct schemas, domains, tables, indexes, columns and triggers

- Import already existing databases to a diagram by reverse engineering

- Create a ready-to-use PostgreSQL database with a few clicks, and then keep its structure up-to-date by synchronizing it with the changes you made to a visual diagram. (Change the diagram, and Designer will generate SQL statement for database modification to bring it to the state of the diagram). Moreover, you can synchronize several databases to the state of your diagram

- Generate reports that describe all the database objects within your diagram. You can export graphical representation of diagram to EMF, JPEG, PNG, GIF and other formats or print the diagram out on multiple pages.
