MeLite

Multi Edit Software provides customizable editors specifically for developers. Among their current offerings are MeLite, and MeLite for SAS.

MeLite, the latest programming tool from Multi Edit Software, Inc. is geared towards the beginning programmer and student, providing intelligent language support with "Smart Indenting," code templates, brace/construct matching, and auto commenting as you type. Also included is the vendor's language sensitive code highlighting, for any language. The "function tagging" feature supports, ASP, Ada, Aspect, BASIC, VB, Batch, CSS, PERL, Java, JavaScript, FORTRAN, Delphi and many more. MeLite also contains the ability to add your own language support and enhanced HTML support.

With MeLite your Keyboard mappings and menus can imitate others and be fully customized. Change fonts, colors, screen layout, even toolbars from one interface. All dialogs are resizable. You can concurrently edit up to 255 DOS, UNIX, and Binary files of any size with line lengths up to 16k.

As with its bigger brother Multi-Edit, MeLite has a configurable search/replace engine. Search across multiple files, folders, directories and drives. Define parameters with regular expression support. Find text as you type incrementally. Once your text is found, it's highlighted throughout the entire file.

MeLite enlists a bookmark feature allowing you to jump back and forth between different positions quickly.

Other features include:

- Collapse code that you don't need to review. Collapse tags and functions (this feature is dependant on the language you are programming in).

- File compare/merge utility

- Flip into Hex mode with a switch

- Record a keystroke macro and play it back at full speed, or recorded speed. Automate an unlimited number of tasks with editable keystroke macros

- Undo and redo as far back as the opening of the file

- Launch a URL from within the file you are editing. Even launch another program with "exec:" or parse URLs

Multi-Edit Lite for SAS is dedicated to SAS programmers, encompassing a collection of edit macros, templates and other features dedicated to SAS. With MeLite for SAS you can create edit macros, menus, tool bars, and other functionalities. Programmers utilizing SAS/PC can develop, test, and fix without leaving the editor; while retaining the ability to use the editing features and upload/download your work to the host. Other functions include mask and line exclusion (as used in ISPF) abbreviations and find-and-print (as used in VI).
