Yaldex Tools

Yaldex Software offers multiple tools targeted to Web developers that assist them in their ability to enhance their Web pages. Among their currently available applications:

- 1st JavaScript Editor is a JavaScript editor, validator and debugger that the vendor targets to both beginners and professionals. Besides editing scripts (JavaScript, HTML, CSS, VBScript, PHP and ASP syntax highlighting, etc.) the program offers a snippets library with a collection of DHTML and JavaScript tags, attributes, statements, etc. (at whole over 1200).

1st JavaScript Editor offers a built-in JavaScript Debugger that allows you to run and debug JavaScript code one line at a time; with the ability to each time either add extra code on the fly or check how variables change in the run of the program. The vendor notes that AJAX developers can use the program as an AJAX Editor.

1st JavaScript Editor is used for editing JavaScript code and creating animations and other special effects for Web pages using DHTML, CSS and JavaScript. JavaScript Editor can help you navigate through code using a built-in "Functions and Variables" navigator. The program allows you to input parameters and properties for the different special effects and then creates the HTML and JavaScript code with a click of a button.

Context help (Shift+F1) gives you access to over 2000 methods, properties, events, etc. By placing the cursor on any word in the editor then pressing Shift+F1 you get a description (with examples) of almost any object of JavaScript, HTML, and CSS. The editor can also highlight matching curly braces. Other features include a clipboard panel that allows you to get all clipboard copy actions (up to 30), a JavaScript source code formatter / beautifier, which allows you to customize and apply any style you want, and a "Go to declaration" feature (Ctrl + Click) to navigate to the line of code where the label, function or variable is declared.

1st JavaScript Editor contains a JavaScript tutorial, HTML tutorial, CSS tutorial, CSS reference, AJAX tutorial, JavaScript reference and HTML reference. An included library contains over 200 ready-to-use controlled scripts and 700 not controlled scripts.

1st JavaScript Editor is available in a Lite and Pro version; the Pro version adds Intellisense features.

- Yaldex StatusTitle Maker generates JavaScript code to show a message in the status and title bar. There are many adjusted effects including: Uppercase Across, Flashing, Typewriter letter by letter and so on. There are 19 controlled effects for status bar and 19 controlled effects for title bar.

- Yaldex Colored ScrollBars is a tool that generates CSS Style definitions needed to add colored scrollbars to your Web pages, and JavaScript code for animated scrollbars. Only users of Internet Explorer 5.5 or later will be able to see the scrollbars in color.

It comes with 44 color schemes included in the templates repository, that can be customized to match your design, or you can create your own schemes and save them to the templates repository for later use. Additional features include a built-in color picker to pick a color from anywhere on your screen, the built-in HTML Editor (to edit designed code in your ready or new HTML pages), a real-time preview that allows you to view the scrollbar, as well as additional background and sample text. You can copy designed code to clipboard, save as a JavaScript file, save as a Cascading Style Sheets file, save as Outlook Express Stationery, or paste code into your page (after choosing the target page, the program will insert the designed code into your page automatically). You can customize color schemes by entering Hex color value in the text box or by choosing from the color box, from the palette dialog or from the color picker.

- Yaldex PopUp generates HTML and JavaScript code to open a URL in a new (PopUp) window. You can specify the properties of the new window, including its size, attributes (whether it is resizable, has a menu bar, and so on), and name. If you specify no attributes for the window, it opens at the size and with the attributes of the window that opened it. Specifying any attribute for the window automatically turns off all other attributes that are not explicitly turned on.

This version includes a mini HTML editor with full HTML and JavaScript highlighting. Yaldex PopUp includes dozens of adjusted tools and additional scripts.
