Search for ASP.NET provides an index based search engine control for ASP.NET Web sites. The tool is entirely designer based (no programming is required); and customizable through its use of templates. Deployment requires only that its DLLs and index files be moved to the server.

For users it provides search capabilities, with search expressions including phrase matching; NOT, OR and AND operators; groups and nested groups; and word stemming.

To implement, you drag SearchBox and SearchResult controls onto pages; configure directory to store index files; and crawl and index the Web site through an integrated index management tool.

An extensible API enables developers to create/leverage custom document parsers, custom ranking algorithms, programmatic crawling, indexing and searching; and logging of user's search activities.
