Port80 IIS Modules

Port80 Software offers a line of products, available separately, that provide enhanced features specifically for Microsoft's IIS Web server. Free trials are available for all products.

Among the current offerings:

- CustomError for IIS: Allows developers to design and deploy custom error pages for their sites by uploading them to a designated directory. Administrator access or intervention isn't required. CustomError comes preloaded with a library of error page templates and accommodates multiple libraries for multiple sites or virtual servers.

- httpZip: Compresses Web pages using HTTP encoding algorithms. Both static and dynamic pages can be compressed, including ASP, ASP.NET, ColdFusion, PHP, Perl, and JSP. With httpZip's built-in caching feature, pages can be accessed in pre-compressed format.

- URLSpellCheck: Corrects common typing errors in URLs automatically. URLSpellCheck fixes missing, transposed, wrong, and extra characters on the fly, redirecting users to the correct URL. File type substitutions allow for the correction of URLs with incorrect file extensions, allowing developers to switch site technologies without the need for manual redirects. When multiple matches for a URL are possible, a template allows users to choose from the most probable destinations.

- CacheRight: CacheRight allows Web developers to craft and administer cache control policies for every Web site resource through a single rules file, without requiring MMC access for developers. With CacheRight, a configuration rules file in the Web site's home directory enables developers to set up rules that control expiration by file location or file type. CacheRight is implemented as a ISAPI filter.

- ServerMask: Modifies your Web server's "fingerpring" by removing unnecessary HTTP response data, modifying cookie values, and obscuring other response information, thus masking the identity of your server. Advanced options include custom header creation, Apache emulation, response randomization, a "Remove Any Header" feature, cookie masking, and one-click WebDav disabling. ServerMask is an ISAPI filter.

- PageXchanger: PageXchanger eliminates file extensions from URLs and source code, allowing for short, persistent URLs. Example uses include technology transitions (switch out .gifs for .jpegs, .html for .asp, or any other MIME type without having to alter URLs) and multi-lingual sites. PageXchanger includes both MMC and GUI interfaces.

- ZipEnable: Allows you to granularly manage IIS 6.0 native compression at the global, site, directory, and file levels--without writing code or editing the IIS metabase. You can configure compression on all static and dynamic files, including both those that are compressed by default (HTML and ASP) and those that are not (JavaScript, CSS, Cold Fusion, and PHP). ZipEnable also provides real-time browser compatibility checking and CPU roll-off.

- ServerDefender Artificial Intelligence (AI) is an IIS Web app firewall that combines signature-based protection from Web attacks and a neural learning engine that can whitelist your allowed traffic and then block traffic that closely matches previously blocked or unknown Web requests. Features include multi-server installation, management, reporting and alerting options (E-mail, pager and more).
