DMSoft Technologies offers tools--available separately--that allow for the conversion (DBConvert) and/or synchronization (DBSync) of database data across certain databases. Currently available tools include:
- DBConvert, which provides the ability to convert data from one DB format to another. Tools are currently available supporting conversions to and from any combination of SQL Server, FoxPro, MySQL, and Access; and additional tools support conversions from MS Excel to MySQL, and between any combination of Access, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and SQL Server.
Features of DBConvert include Unicode support, primary keys and indexes conversion, interactive multilingual (GUI) mode / command line mode, renaming of tables, fields, indexes before conversion, the ability to save data to a PHP script or to a dump file, and the ability to filter data during conversion.
- DBSync provides both conversion and synchronization between different DBs. Supported database combinations are the same as are available for DBConvert (see above), with the exception that MS Excel is not supported.
DBSync enables the conversion of data with synchronization with the ability to choose particular tables for conversion by configuring several options in a wizard-like application. The ability to use command line parameters is supplemented with a scheduler so you can run the program without user input after having scheduled it once. For data protection during the synchronization process you can open an SSH tunnel for communication between remote computers. Like DBConvert, DBSync supports the filtering of data during conversion and synchronization.
