Workspace

Build and Run Web Shops and Online Stores

Workspace is used to build and run E-commerce sites, e.g. Web shops, online stores, product catalogs and extranets. Workspace features pre-built components and a browser-based management interface.

For the merchant, the management interface and features are divided into 6 modules. These are System, Products, Orders, Customers, Visual and Payments.

Ready-made integrations to back-end systems (such as SAP Business One, Exact Globe, Compiere, Epicor iScala, HansaWorld, Jeeves, Econet, Navision, Sage, etc.) are available. The vendor further states that, by using their XML-based Smilehouse OpenSyncro integration middleware, Workspace can be integrated to any back-end system. You can also connect directly to the Workspace WebServices API. Workspace also includes Plug-In technology that enables the building of custom functionality.

Workspace is developed on Java (J2EE) technology and can be installed on several different platforms. Basic requirements are a Java-environment and a JDBC compatible database. Multiple small systems can be installed into one server and larger systems may be installed to a server cluster.
