SOHOConnection 2

SOHOConnection is a free Java based proxy server that runs on any machine for which a Java 2 compatible Virtual Machine is available. It allows multiple TCP/IP networked machines to share a single Internet connection for Web browsing, E-Mail, or other online activities. The latest version of the product includes support for SOCKS 4/5, name resolution, and a built-in DHCP server. A built-in basic firewall provides the LAN with ability to deny access to the network from outside computers.

The proxy server is installed on any machine which has access both to the Local Area Network (LAN) and the Internet itself; I.E., it does not provide the access to the Internet, it only allows multiple networked PCs to share an existing Internet access point. The product is also able to check, and if necessary, update itself from master copies of the main program residing on the Servlet Inc. servers.
