Conceptually, Silent Access is similar to pre-paid calling cards in that it contains everything a user needs to access the Internet within a single CD. The product is being targeted to OEMs, Retail companies, and Calling Card Companies and offers these businesses a way to provide a branded Internet access product to their consumers that allows them to surf the Web anonymously, and even contains software that will "clean" up after the user; removing any cookie data left behind by the user's Internet session. While users are not required to have their own browser, the product will work with the user's browser if they prefer.
The Silent Access CD will come complete with E-Mail, and, according to the Vendor, will be available nationwide. Travelers can carry their Silent Access CD with them and connect to the Web on the go. Future versions of the product are expected to provide E-Commerce applications, and, according to the iCopious Web site, the second release will be "the first truly cash equivalent on the Internet."
Version 1 of the Silent Access CD is expected to begin shipping to manufacturers by the end of the 1st quarter. Pricing will, of course, be dependent on the OEM.
