The AE1 Answer Engine, flagship product of AnswerLogic, provides a means of analyzing your site content and providing a plain language search mechanism to your site visitors. Users who visit an AnswerLogic enabled site are able to search the content of the site by typing regular questions into a text field; such as "When will Widgets 2.0 be available?"
The AE1 Answer Engine consists of 4 components: the Language Processor, the Document Manager, the IdeaMap, and the Answer Manager. The Document Manager provides the site administrator's or developer's interface, and it is used in the gathering of actual documents (content) that will be used as the Engine's knowledge base. The Language Processor analyzes these documents, comparing their contents to known informational lexicons and determining word relationships and meanings to be placed in its IdeaMap database of knowledge. In addition to the core language lexicon used in this process, an industry specific and a company specific lexicon can be developed and used as well to help focus the results of the Language Processor's analysis.
The Answer Manager provides the customer's interface to the Language Processor; allowing them to feed natural language questions to the Engine which are analyzed and compared to the IdeaMap for relevant results.
