AceErase is a digital file shredder and privacy tool that provides several data destruction algorithms (DOD strength and stronger) to destroy files, folders, recycle bin, free space, Internet browsing history, cache, cookies, index.dat files, desktop run history, file tips, and more. Features include a drag-and-drop interface, help, tool tips, feedback, per-item and total progress indicators, and multi-threaded design.
The free trial version provides unlimited usage of the "Fast" (zero pattern) algorithm. It is limited to one pass and provides no "Shred Your Tracks" feature, but has no time restriction or number of use limits.
The vendor states that the product includes no spyware, or adware of any kind, ever. Free updates until the next major version release are available using the built-in "Check for Updates" feature. Review any warnings, errors, or messages after a shred in the AceErase log.
