Vernier Networks offers adaptive security products for wired and wireless networks. Vernier's products protect enterprise networks from attacks, actively resolve intrusions, while continually adapting network security policy to protect against future threats. Put simply, Vernier's products protect network uptime with "adaptive" security that learns from breaches as they happen, and modifies behavior to destroy viruses--right down to individual users and locations.

Vernier's Adaptive Security Platform (ASP) provides five layers of network security, designed to provide enterprises with security controls for their wired and wireless networks. The Vernier ASP includes: Trusted Network Design, Trusted Network Admission, Trusted Network Defense, Trusted Network Outbreak Management and Trusted Network Remediation. These layers reduce the possibility of an attack, and if an attack occurs, resolve the attack immediately, while adapting policy to prevent future threats to the network. The ASP consists of the Vernier Control Server for Centralized Policy Creation and Management, the Vernier Access Manager for Distributed Policy Enforcement and the Vernier Private Investigator reporting tool.

Sitting at the network core, the Vernier Control Server, powered by VNX software, enables network managers to create and manage network policy from a central location. The Vernier Control Server is a security appliance that dynamically generates access policies based on several parameters: threat levels, identity, location, patch levels and vulnerability levels.

Operating at the network edge, the Vernier Access Manager is also a security appliance that sits in the data path and enforces security, admission control and intrusion management policies.

The Vernier Private Investigator is a trending, troubleshooting and forensics reporting tool that provides security managers more visibility into problem areas, suspicious activities and usage.
