Exellar Wireless Server

The Exellar Wireless Server allows a corporation to enable wireless access to their corporate Web sites or intranets. The vendor states that the server supports "...all portable wireless devices (mobile phones, PDAs, two way pagers, etc.)" and can be deployed over multiple wireless networking protocols, including CDMA, EDGE, iMode, GPRS, and GSM.

The vendor bills their server as a customizable product that can utilize the corporation's existing database and infrastructure. The server supports access by up to 5000 wireless devices simultaneously, supports multiple Web page delivery technologies including WML scripting and Cookies, and supports the integration of voice-to-text and text-to-voice functionality. Proprietary encryption/security functionality based on WTLS (Wireless Transport Layer Security) is offered as an option, and future intended developments for the server include customized gateways and legacy application interfaces.
