AlterEgo Designer 2.0

AlterEgo Designer 2.0, a powerful GUI-based, XML/XSL-based development tool, creates an intuitive environment for building the navigation, site design, layout and formatting specifications for every type of device (PCs and thin-client mobile devices) across a multitude of mark-up languages. Moving beyond mere transcoding, AlterEgo Designer allows content engineers to build a complete experience for the user, with simple drag-and-drop operation, enabling manipulation of data to be displayed and flow in a unique format for each target device. The result is the best user experience on any browser-based Internet access device, whether it be wired or wireless.

AlterEgo Designer enables the creation of a true Adaptive Enterprise with templates that provide real-time adaptation and filtering of information based a number of key considerations: device type, bandwidth connection, image rendering capabilities and more. The use of templates enables a "single-source, multiple target" environment where businesses adapt content once for distribution to nearly any type of access platform.

Intuitive navigation and embedded "wizards" based on the design expertise of AlterEgo's resident Chief Interface Technologist Dr. Mike Mills assist content engineers in the creation of target sites that maximize usability and efficiency. A real-time software emulation window demonstrates the completed site on each target device (phone, PDA and pager) so that final sites can be judged throughout the adaptation process. This tool is fully functional and has been in use by AlterEgo's internal Content Designers since May 2000. This tool is being offered to AlterEgo customers for the first time along with AlterEgo Content Adaptation Server or AlterEgo Mobile Web Server.
