The FibeAir family of point-to-point bridges from Ceragon Networks provide enterprise wireless connectivity between campus buildings or to service providers. Multiple protocols, modulation and broadcast frequencies, and data throughput rates are available in the line. The units are typically deployed in split mount (indoor/outdoor components) configurations; though some of the products support all-indoor deployments.
Among the FibeAir devices currently available are:
- 1500P: With supported frequencies from 6 to 38 GHz and bandwidth from 45 to 622 Mb/sec (TDM) and 50 to 800 Mb/sec (Ethernet).
- IP-MAX2: With a single GbE port (the 'G' model) and optional nxE1/T1 interfaces. As in the 1500P, frequencies from 6 - 38 GHz are supported, with throughput listed at up to 900 Mb/sec over a single channel.
- 3200T: The 3200T can be deployed as a split mount or all indoor (rack mountable; both deployment modes use the same hardware) system and is targeted to trunk (long distance) deployments. The platform operates in the 6 - 11 GHz frequency range, features a transmit power of up to 33 dBm, and supports a multiple radio design with up to 9+1 STM-1/OC-3 carriers in one rack for TDM networks and up to 10 Ethernet carriers for IP networks.
- 4800 series: With models available to support multiple frequency bands between 2.3 and 5.935 GHz. Data rates range up to 48 Mb/sec, while operational ranges scale up to 50 miles (80 km). The split-mount platform (indoor and outdoor units) is available with two types of indoor units (1 10/100 and 1 or 2 E1/T1s; or 2 10/100 and 1, 2, or 4 E1/T1s) and two types of outdoor units (with a 1 ft integrated antenna or an N-type connector for an external antenna).
- 640P: Also a 6-38 GHz supported unit. The 640P boasts support for from 32-64 E1s and from 28-64 T1s in addition to native Fast Ethernet connections in any combination up to 155 Mb/sec.
- IP-10: The newest product in the line. The IP-10 is offered in split-mount or all indoor designs and offers 10-500 Mb/sec performance per radio carrier. Both TDM and IP interfaces are supported with operation from 6-38 GHz. Other features include an integrated Ethernet switch, and optional stackable radios with TDM cross-connect.
Other than the IP-10, the FibeAir devices are available now. (The IP-10 is expected to be available in 2Q/2008.) Visit the Ceragon Web site for further information.
